Please see highlights from the annual Assize Service held Sunday September 22, 2013 at the East Queen Street Baptist Church, Downtown Kingston, under the theme “Justice Our Mission”.

 

Members of the Jamaican Judiciary and the legal fraternity  participate in the service, marking the start of the Michaelmas term of the Home Circuit Court. The activity is a European tradition dating back to the middle ages, exported to the colonies from about the 17th century. It usually occurs on the last Sunday of every September each year.
